Goodies from yesterday...

don'tcha just love those owls??? (and the cherries of course!) ...

Ruby, Ruby, Ruby, Ruby....

.... here is the little doll. Enjoying my son's chair and snoozing through our chinese takeaway and then choccie cake and white choccie cheesecake... Isn't she really, really beautiful?

Maybe, just maybe...

Well, after a chat with Kevy last night we both agreed that me applying for the part time course in Hertfordshire would be hard going, although the part time hours much better suited to all of us. It would however take 5 whole years to complete (Emily would be 8/9 and Ben 6/7 - as I wouldn't start until Sept 2008) ... It seems weird thinking of them as grown-up kids! And I think that it would leave me relying heavily on the car and alsorts... Soooooo I have been searching even more... and found that Colchester runs a full time course. That is my option atm. I gave them a call to ask about expected hours in uni and on placement/shifts etc... but the lady I needed to talk to was out of the office until Thursday ... hmmmmm.

I emailed Tanya and asked her opinion - as she is already a midwife - she suggested some cool things and then - I found a job vancancy in a maternity unit as a midwifery assistant. I sat up last night and applied. I'm not sure how i'll go, whether I get an interview or not. But i'm hoping. It seems a good step in that direction and i'm pretty stoked that I actually found the vacancy, maybe someone was putting some good luck my way! Fingers crossed now that I get an interview! With my college GNVQ though- it is slightly higher than their desirable requirements, so i'm hopeful. And it's super close to Kevy's moms and fairly close to Kevy's work... So childcare - hopefully wouldn't be a problem.

AND we have baby Ruby visiting tonight!!! (And her mummy and daddy!) - can't wait to see how they are getting on with the rocky road called parenthood. Hoping they are still full of joy and not toooooo tired - as those with kids know, there's a lot of shhhhh-ing going on during the wee hours with a newborn.

More goodies through the mail!

I have got two packages today - my owl beads arrived... they are super cute! And a whole bag of kitsch little charms... Tonight I will try and take some piccies for you all to see.

I am also thinking about me and my family. I have been doing some deep thinking about what I want from life and where our lives are heading. At the moment my life just seems to be stuck in the same place every day. Before Ben was conceived and born I was thinking about returning to study and felt old enough and wise enough (ha ha!) to maybe start thinking about becoming a midwife... I do love those fat bellies, pregnant women waddles and all of that bubba talk. I'm not too sure how i'll deal with the blood and guts side but you never know until you try... So thats where i'm at. I'm lucky that Kevy is very supportive in what I want to do career-wise and i'm hoping that although it will be sacrafice (sp!?) now - the benefits for my children and us as a family will be imense in the future. This is all weighted on me 1) actually applying, 2) having my MIL and FIL taking care of Emily and Ben or Kevy when he isn't at work and 3) me actually being sucessful in applying... It may sound selfish too, but for my sanity at the moment I just need to acheive something BIG. Not just the little things I have been doing.

hmmmmm, food for thought...

Few more craft-ier piccies!

This is the wonderful picture my daughter Emily drew - cute, eh? It's Uncle Ben and Aunty Kerry with baby Ruby in her tummy -how cute!!!??? And the little book I started making on Friday at scrapbooking class - i'm loving the kazzoo kids papers that Sandra has in...! They are so cute- cannot wait to use my fire engine and rocket ones too!

This is some of the fabric I have brought... pretty cute, eh??? And the exploding triangle i've made with the SoML kit (June one)... YES I ordered the July one today - how could anyone resist??? It' is so cool this month!

This is what I made for Sandra from her birthday (though it was alitttle late...) A cute sterling silver pearl cluster bracelet. I'm so glad she liked it.

Just a little grosse piccie!

This was my daughterat tea time... she wasn't really picking it- she suggested 'I know mummy, this is funny!' ... I guess she gets that bogey-picking humour from her Daddy...?

I am a bad blogger!

I have been slack lately... adding no piccies or much else. But I haven't actually FINISHED anything- just started stuff...
Kev has brought resident evil on the wii (not my choice, it's pretty grosse and scary) and so most evenings he has been playing that and scarying me witless) We had his nephew to stay over last night and the pair of them were slaying villagers/zombies or whatever they are til near on midnight.
Ben has been a monkey the past few nights too- waking every twenty minutes from around midnight til 3am. I feel like i'm one of those zombies! I just need some decent sleep. Sleep deprivation does strange things to your mind... Emily too is peaking at her 'i woooooooooooooooooonnnnt it' stage. It's driving me round the twist. I will be glad once she has grown out of all this I want this, want that... want bloomin' everything phase. Though i'm sure she will just get better at wanting things in a more acceptable way.

I am super happy that Nina is back from Glasto and back blogging and back on line!!! Yay! I can't wait to hear all about her time drinking copious amounts of pear cider and all the fun she had! And of course to natter on and on and on and on and on and on about scrapping!

Tomorrow I will be a good blogger and add plenty of piccies.
